Mobile Pantries
Mobile Pantries are a supplemental source of food for households experiencing nutrition insecurity whose nutrition needs are not being met. Mobile Pantries all operate on a scheduled, recurring basis with immediate distribution to participants upon delivery. All participants who attend an Mobile Pantry receive food until all food is distributed.
FoodShare Program
Second Harvest’s FoodShare Outreach Specialists work to ensure that community members who are eligible are aware of the resource and have assistance completing the application if they desire.
“I feel like I’ve got a purpose in life again,” said Sandy. “What I can’t use, I find someone who can use it. We get some very good food, nothing goes to waste. A lot of people by me are in their 80s, they don’t drive anymore, so I do it for them. I don’t know what they would do if they didn’t get this food. It would be a lot harder for me and a lot of people (without this mobile).”
