7/19/2024 Agency Express Update – A Note from the Vice President of Strategy

Hello Partners,

We’re guessing that you are all aware of the global issues caused by the CrowdStrike and Microsoft outages, but wanted to take a moment to update you on impacts here at Second Harvest and some “what’s next” plans should they be needed.

The inventory system used by Second Harvest and more than 100 other U.S. food banks is currently down. Agency Express (AE) is working, but the items and quantities listed aren’t accurate as the inventory system isn’t sending AE any updates. What this means for all of you:

Today’s (Friday) order fulfillment (deliveries and pickups) were already set and are running normally. Monday fulfillment was also already set, so no need for action on those orders either.

We’re reading that both CrowdStrike and Microsoft have deployed fixes and so we are hoping that the situation will be resolved today and won’t impact you further. But just in case…

For Tuesday fulfillment the order window closed yesterday so we have your orders. We will be compiling these orders using many manual inventory systems, however, so please be patient with any questions from your Community Rep and/or minor changes to your order.

For Wednesday (and after as needed), depending on when the systems come back online, your Rep will provide you with details on how orders will be placed and managed. We recognize that it may take a little more time and conversation to make it all work, but please know that we are committed to fulfilling your orders and supporting you and your guests without interruption.

07/19/2024 Agency Express is having issues. Shopping will be CLOSED while we resolve the problem. We will continue to update the Partner Portal and Agency Express Website as we have more information. Please reach out to your Community Rep if you have any questions.
